In the project, the brief was so design an exhibition to raise awareness for ex-offenders. I designed my exhibition to be an experiential one, where each section told a different story and gave a different spacial experience.
This is the first part of the exhibition, where it starts off dark and enclosed, making visitors feel claustrophobic. It shows how inmates feel in their first few days in prison.
The next section of the exhibition shows visitors how this organisation help inmates get back on their feet. They assign inmates to different programmes so they can pick up basic skills like cooking or baking. This ensures that when inmates are released, they are equipped with a few basic skills so they can get jobs.
At the end of the exhibition, some art works of different inmates are displayed. After walking through the whole exhibition, visitors can choose to buy the pieces of art that are displayed, where the funds raised goes back to the organisation to help future inmates.
