Writers today do not need too much space to work as they usually work on their devices and paper occasionally, hence this space is writer’s retreat for tech-savvy writers, who can choose to work anywhere in the space.

Concept

In this project, I wanted my different individual spaces to eventually overlap which forms a bigger space with a different purpose. This allows my whole space to be multi-functional, giving users more options and ideas on how they want the space to turn out.

Clustering spaces based on their degree of openness. This means that in the enclosed areas, users are able to focus more on their interpersonal relationships.

In open spaces, users can choose to connect to the outside while at the same time maintaining the interpersonal relationships.

User Wellbeing

As writers spend most of their time on their devices, tea leaf walls are scattered around the space. This ensures that the users will not strain their eyes, while at the same time maintaining the interior air quality.

Conveniently, the writers can also grab some of these leaves to brew a cup of tea.

Space Flexibility

To allow that variety of working spaces, a few open working spaces can be turned into event spaces for events like reading/ writing workshops.

When there are no events, these spaces are open working spaces for authors to use, with pop-up tables flushed on the floor.
